Maryam Imani
Née en 1983 à Rafsanjan, Iran.
Vit et travaille dans les Alpes de Haute-Provence (France).

Maryam Imani est diplômée de l’Université des Beaux-Arts de Téhéran. Elle a commencé sa carrière artistique par le dessin et a progressivement fait la transition vers diverses formes de peinture et d’œuvres d’art. Son parcours comprend plusieurs expositions collectives en Iran et une exposition personnelle en France, où elle est arrivée en 2020.

Au cours de ces dernières années, elle s’est intéressée à la philosophie de l’art. Sous cet angle, elle étudie actuellement la pensée de Sohrawardi, philosophe et mystique persan (XIIe-XIIIe s.).

Passionnée de voyages, elle parcourt l’Iran et poursuit ses découvertes à travers la France.

Ces expériences d’itinérance marquent profondément son point de vue d’artiste. Ses œuvres naissent de l’interaction et du dialogue avec la nature et l’environnement, objets de préoccupations actuelles, affectés par des transformations étendues et tangibles dans le monde entier. Elle accompagne ses choix par des techniques propres et des contextes d’exécution particuliers. Son interaction avec le monde et ses choix lui permettent de créer des œuvres actuelles et sensibles, en contact avec les mouvements artistiques contemporains.

La manifestation de ces différentes sources d’inspiration est visible dans ses grands formats et dans son travail de la couleur sur des toiles en tissu froissé. Ses œuvres évoquent de grands paysages visualisés en trois dimensions, tout en portant des signes expressifs à la fois abstraits, interprétables et narratifs.

Maryam Imani is a graduate of the art of painting. She began her artistic career with sketching and gradually transitioned to various forms of painting and artwork. Her resume includes several collective exhibitions in Iran and a solo exhibition in France.

In recent years, she has taken an interest in philosophy and is now studying philosophy of art. Her artworks have been born through interaction and dialogue with nature and the environment. Following her passion for travel, she journeyed throughout Iran and continued her voyages after she immigrated to France. These experiences have profoundly affected her point of view as an artist. The manifestation of this influence is visible in her large format and colourful work on crumpled fabric canvases.

Maryam Imani’s artwork and artistic perspective are in touch with contemporary art movements. Her focus on nature and the environment as current concerns of widespread and tangible effects worldwide, accompanied by her choice of technique and execution context have permitted her to create up-to-date and impressionable works.

These works resemble grand landscapes that have been visualized in three dimensions, whilst also carrying expressive signs that are abstract, interpretable and narrative.
